Interview with Darylynn Eyewear

If you are a fan of unique, fashion forward, finely crafted eyewear, then meet your new favorite independent designer.  Darylynn Eyewear has been wowing the optical world with their innovative designs that often take retro-inspired looks and push them forward into modern works of art. Founded by Darylynn Ayala Maculoso and her husband, Joseph, this duo's optical creations are a favorite on social media too -- just check out their instagram account to see why.  Their latest campaign showcases the boundary-breaking style we've come to expect as a Darylynn signature, making retro shapes like the oft-used cat eye frame feel fresh and new.   From the designer: "Darylynn Eyewear was created on the notion of making people feel "Glamorous" in their Italian hand crafted, high quality frames. We are in the mind set of creating Get-Noticed eyewear for glamor junkies everywhere."



What was the inspiration for your 2015 line of eyewear?
The inspiration for our latest collection was 1950's Mad Man looks meets American Hustle glam.  From cat eye looks with fresh new twists to oversized Charlie's Angels style shapes, we wanted to create looks that appeal to people as wearable art.

As a designer, what details do you find are most essential to the perfect pair of glasses?
First off is fit; frames are the most personal accessory we use next to shoes --mostly because the functional aspect. I think up a concept of shape then my next step is to start to figure out how to technically make my design wearable and comfortable.
